LIVE 365.com — lists 492 “talk stations” as of Aug. ‘05.
Mike’s Radio World — brings you over 5,000 streaming radio stations from around the globe. For the U.S. you can pick a state and then sort by call letters, city or format, such as news/talk or sports. You can go to the station’s website for programming info or just hit a stream link for a quick connect – pretty neat.
PublicRadioFan.com — A wonderfully crafted site for fans of public radio. But that description really doesn’t do it justice. Everyone can find listening treats here. Check out their Schedule Grid for a dynamic listing of currently available programs. You can look up program offerings by music (Beethoven to the Grateful Dead) and non-music, as well as stations by name, location, format or language. Being a public radio site, they do of course have a donation page. Did I mention the Grateful Dead links?
On a recent Sunday I listened to financial programming, jazz, National Geographic World, China radio news, a Lewis and Clark lecture and of course, some Dead, all from this site. It ain’t just Prairie Home Companion.
radio-locator — Just what the name says – find radio stations by location, call letters or format. Click on the info icon next to a station on the list and you’ll get contact info, ownership, website url and technical info such as transmitter power, a coverage map and license information.
real Radio’s — radio guide for talk radio lists 327 stations throughout the world.
Radio Wizard — What did she just say? Well you can double-check your hearing if you’re using Radio Wizard while listening to your favorite shows. This program is like a tivo for radio. You can pause the show and resume listening without missing anything. Or you can jump back in time to repeat something and then jump back to live listening.
This program is distributed by the same company that brings you Replay Radio.
Replay Radio — This is really my favorite player. You can do presets of programs or stations to automatically tune in at broadcast times and record them at your option. There is an enormous, continually updated list of available programs.
Take your pick of 2,022 stations, 1,144 shows and 6,198 podcasts categorized and ready to be added to the player interface with one click.
RIGHTALK — A variety of one-hour conservative talk programs with an on-demand replay feature. Check out the monthly schedule for a full listing of programs. Just a few of the talkers are Paul Weyrich, Niger Innis, Phyllis Schlafly and Grover Norquist.
Surfer Network — I use this player mostly for music but it does have a category for talk stations also. Browsing stations on this player is a pleasure because of its near instantaneous tuning.
