Don’t expect to see this General on the weekend news programs. Lt. General John R. Vines, who from January 2005 to January 2006 led all coalition forces in Iraq, has stated that Al Qaeda in Iraq and its leader, Zarqawi may be about to leave Iraq, having conceded defeat.
Vines contends that Zarqawi’s mistakes, including excessive civilian violence discredited him with the Iraqi people. The general said that the terrorist group’s failure to disrupt national elections and a constitutional referendum last year indicates that their strategy had failed, and that “They no longer view Iraq as fertile ground to establish a caliphate and as a place to conduct international terrorism.”
We can’t have generals claiming that the enemy has made mistakes. No, we only want to give credence to the Clinton-era politico-generals who want to undermine and drive out American military leaders, specifically Secretary Rumsfeld. So expect to only see the Zinni gang on the weekend shows. And “If they were so opposed to what Rumsfeld and crew were doing, I wonder if in fact they shouldn’t have put their stars on the line when they served”, says McQ.
Mark Levin spoke about this in depth on his show tonight and referred to a past Victor Davis Hanson column recounting the errors and mistakes of World War II. Hanson deals with the generals and might haves and what ifs in his NRO column of yesterday.

As noted by Michelle Malkin, this is next.
Its just one more type of fraud to promote and normalize.
So you want to start your own radio station but don’t want to deal with all that licensing crap – no problemo. In fact this solution can work for lots of things. I’d like to open a specialty beer bar with about twenty taps and oh 200 or so bottled micro brews. But the oppressive fascist state of New Jersey has no such licensing. No problemo – I’ll just open an undocumented brewhouse and pub.
Lynn Wooley in the Dallas Morning News explains in more detail:
“I’d really like to have a big, high-powered radio station – but to get one, I’d have to apply to the Federal Communications Commission, file a lot of paperwork and wait a long time. So I’m thinking that I’ll just open an undocumented radio station.”
No, I’m not predicting a miracle. I don’t get that type of inside information. And if I did, I’d be on a daytrading website right now instead of talking about radio.
Bill Handel does the early morning show on KFI in Los Angeles, that’s 8am til noon est. Handel is one of several radio hosts who have had a run-in with CAIR, representatives of one of the somewhat less liberal theologies. One of his guests for this Friday, which is Good Friday, is Jesus Christ. Perhaps the discussion will include the subjects of religious freedom and political correctness.
Now, Jesus Christ has his own show, which I’ve listened to a few times, but not religiously. His is a Sunday gig, also on KFI, which airs Sunday mornings from 9am til noon, eastern time. The premise of his program is: “What if… today, you could talk to Him, laugh with Him…cry with Him? Not just through prayer, but through the radio…”
I’m not going to describe the program besides passing on that official show info, because that really explains the program best. It’s not a bad listen for a Sunday morning while you’re picking up the beer cans, tortilla chips and god knows what else. But you can hear him first this Friday, supposedly during the first hour, on the Handel show.
WFAN adds its sports and talk programming to the streaming mix Tuesday, April 11. The streaming officially begins with a special internet-only Mike and the Mad Dog show for Tuesday afternoon at 3:00pm est.
The FAN begins its weekday daytime broadcasting with Imus from 5:30 until 10am. Imus is followed each day by Joe Benigno. Other regulars include Steve Somers, Mike and the Mad Dog, Tony Paige, Kevin Burkhardt, Evan Roberts and Chris Carlin. This morning I listened to local talk radio with Jay Sorensen,of WJRZ, on point talking about the alien invasion here in New Jersey. Italian, Irish, Chinese and other legal immigrants of yore did not walk out of schools waving the flag of whatever country they escaped. But apparently that is going on all over the country now.
The tipping point is here. We’re all border states now. The situation is getting out of hand and our government on all levels is failing us. The Senate bill proposed this past week was totally worthless and would only encourage an acceleration of the problem.
In Lakewood, New Jersey, local officials are spending 37 thousand dollars of taxpayer money to aid and abet illegal activity by establishing a day laborer “muster zone”. In addition, publicly funded buses will provide transportation to this staging area. One opponent of this travesty remarked, “How about a print shop for their false IDs?”
On the state level, a bill has been introduced to provide in-state tuition to illegals. While a legal citizen who may have moved out of state is ineligible for this tuition rate, this policy makes discounted tuition available for students who aren’t even in the country legally, though they may never have known any other place as home.
Insanity on every level on this issue. Time is running out and scars are forming. The gates are open and unattended. Its 12 or 15 or more likely 20 million illegals today. We are passing the point of viable assimilation levels. Ten or twenty years from now it will be fifty or eighty million. The social unrest at that point will make todays problems insignificant. By that time, America as a free society will have ceased to exist, which perhaps, is precisely what some people want.

Now even the John Batchelor program is referring to people who want illegal immigration laws enforced as klan-like. Apparently a lot of people want immigration to be absolutely unlimited. Alright, how do we get most of the Mexicans here? Yes nearly all of them, and especially their crooked government, who by the way will feel right at home here in Jersey. As soon as the traffic lets up – we head south. I got a beautiful spot picked out on the Yucatan coast, I mean, the New New Jersey Shore.
All I need is a little cottage, a rowboat, a wide-brimmed hat and a throw net. I can fish by day and in my spare evening time, I can make fancy ceramic tiles to sell to the nuevo-gringos up north. Just don’t expect me to wear that stupid white cone hat.
As Congress prepares to betray the American public on the issue of illegals, Neil Boortz presents a radical and unique way to deal with illegal immigration. Now get this. He actually proposes that we try enforcing existing laws.
Yes, Boortz agrees with the extremist proposal of Rep. Tom Tancredo who spoke today with Neil Cavuto.
• “First of all, here’s a radical proposal … I know some people are going to suggest is just impossible … how about enforcing the law?” he asked rhetorically.
• “How about actually enforcing the law that today is on the books that says, ‘Employer, you can’t hire people who are here illegally.’
• “The borders? They should be secured, we simply choose not to enforce those laws. If you enforce the law – especially with regard to employers – you immediately begin to deal with the issue of how many are here, because millions will go home,” he said.
• “If you cannot get a job here because you are not in this country legally … you go home. Those that don’t, you deport. Why? It’s the law,” Tancredo added.

Tancredo sure is radical. Congress is only supposed to pass laws, not call for laws to be enforced, except for the IRS of course. Oh well, if only it were that easy, . . and that benign for the American public.
Glenn Beck, along with the rest of the world, commented today on the Couric deal. Quipping that the soon to be anchorette, smiley and perky Katie, is really the wicked witch of the west. He suggested that maybe she wants to look younger sitting next to the fossils at CBS.
So cruel. Actually this is a great deal for CBS. It removes some competition for their morning show. And Couric will certainly restore credibility and uh, gravitas to the CBS news division. Along with oodles and oodles of objectivity. (see Media Research Center)
I predict she will end up the preferred talking head for the hundreds and hundreds of people who still watch that type of news.

If you commit the horrific sin of missing Monica Crowley’s new nationally syndicated show, you can catch some of the highlights on Monica’s website, monicamemo.com. The site has a revised archive player that is the best presentation of archived clips I’ve seen yet. The player itself actually lists the available audio clips. Just click on the selection you want to hear. The player will automatically cycle through the clips from that point. A little bit more detail on the clip selections is posted on the initial web page.
Thanks, Monica. I wish all shows would recognize the value of this type of promotion. Too many shows lock-up every bit of their audio behind members only links.
Crowley’s new show is broadcast Saturday afternoons from noon til three, though of course, times vary by station. I have WABC linked on the weekend schedule for the 1pm til 4pm slot. Monicamemo.com offers a full radio station list with times and streaming links.
