Jamie Dupree of WSB Radio in Atlanta spoke with Neal Boortz about an apparent new entitlement program buried in the little read cap and trade bill. Apparently the bill includes an “Energy Refund Program” which reveals that the Dems expect the bill to raise energy costs far more than they admit.
The new monthly payout would go to those whose income is no more than 150% of the poverty line. The provision appears on page 1193 of the bill which was raced through unread by nearly all of the so-called representatives voting on it. The current modus operandi of Polosi’s most irresponsible congress in history is to make sure the public has no opportunity to comment on proposed legislation.
Dupree also writes in his blog about the bill making provision for loss of funds to the Medicare and Social Security funds because of the job-killing nature of the bill. Dupree, unlike the lapdog official state media, is going through the bill line by line and reporting what he finds. His full blog is on the WSB site here.

So the name Hussein is now forbidden, perhaps sacred. Not to be taken in jest or vain or as a campaign rub. Talk host Bill Cunningham was so evil in calling Obama by his actual name. Perhaps its now like publishing a likeness of that other prophet, er, mo-something. Well screw Obama. Uh oh, Now I’ve taken the name of our new prophet in vain. Ahh, screw him anyway.
Yes anyone who uses his actual middle name must be anti-Muslim at best or perhaps something worse, maybe a republican or evil conservative. Yes, small r because John McLame now decides who is really a Republican. Despite Cunningham perhaps having a screw loose with his now I’ll support Hillary garbage, this is all such bs. Anyway, Mark Levin came up with a solution on how to properly address his Obamaness.
Levin says we shall now use the name Barack Milhaus Obama. Now maybe that shows proper respect. Except that “Tricky Dick”, as the left so respectfully called him, wasn’t ashamed of America before he had his own self wander onto the political scene. Except that “I am not a crook” Nixon, as the left so respectfully called him, didn’t buy his homes with questionable real estate deals with lobbyists. Maybe using Milhaus is sort of degrading, to Nixon.

The morons in the House and Senate are trying to provide cover for their own despicable behavior by criticizing Limbaugh for something he didn’t say. These congressional clowns are doing the bidding of far left propagandists Media Matters and Move0n to portray Rush as having said that ex-soldiers who criticize the military are phony soldiers. Just one problem. He didn’t say that.
Rush said last week, “I was talking about a genuine phony soldier — and, by the way, Jesse MacBeth is not the only one. How about this guy Scott Thomas who was writing fraudulent, phony things in the New Republic about atrocities he saw that never happened? How about Jack Murtha blanketly accepting the notion that Marines in Haditha engaged in wanton murder of innocent children and civilians? If anybody owes anybody an apology, the entire Democrat Party, from Hillary Clinton on down, owes the US military an apology.”
John Kerry, who built a career in politics by turning on his fellow soldiers, claims Rush slighted the military with the expression phony soldiers. But Rush was referring to a specific, recent, actual fraud that the left propped up to weave horror stories convenient to their cause and defamatory to the troops. In other words a young Kerry-type, except that the fraud Rush was referring to had washed out after a few weeks of boot camp.
Now Senator Reid is demanding Rush be held accountable for what he didn’t even say. So Rush has challenged this idiot to make the accusations to his face. All of this is just more proof that Congress has even better ratings than they deserve. It really belongs in the low single digits. In fact, appearances on the Limbaugh show would help their ratings.
Rush rationalized, “The reason this does not work, ladies and gentlemen, is that I have a 19-and-a-half-year record on this program of being one of the most devoted supporters of US military personnel in uniform that there is.” Rush relates that he has been saying for a while that the dems have gone over the cliff in their criticism of the military, the way they have portrayed troops as terrorizing Iraqis, and the recent outrage of the Betrayus ad. This is their desperate attempt to create the illusion of supporting the troops.

The last in the 2007 series of Freedom Concerts took place where it all began five years ago, at Great Adventure in Jackson Township, New Jersey. The weather semi-cooperated. At least I was reasonably dried off by concert time.
Sean again broadcast his show from the park, rotating the audience each hour to give as many as possible a chance to view the program.
Guests included Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham and of course Oliver North, whose Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund uses the proceeds to endow scholarships for children of service people killed or permanently disabled.
The afternoon also offered book signing opportunities.
Ingraham’s new book, “Power To The People”, in the stores as of Tuesday, was available at the show.
Also broadcasting from the park a little earlier in the afternoon, was Andrew Wilkow. He did his show over at the opposite end of Great Adventure, on the arena stage.
Rain Doesn’t Dampen Spirits
Despite a few afternoon downpours the sellout crowd took full advantage of the park’s offerings before filling the arena for the evening concert. As in past years, the weather finally cooperated and cleared out before the show.

WABC morning show host Curtis Sliwa led off the concert guest list. Curtis was followed by Newt Gingrich and then a surprise appearance by the Decider-In-Chief, although it may have been one of his many body doubles. Hannity brought out Elisabeth Hasselbeck to say a few words. She enjoyed some professional competition from her young daughter who accompanied her onstage.

Rousing the Crowd – United We Stand Divided We Fall – What Don’t They Get?
Bob Grant, who just returned to the airwaves at WABC, briefly spoke to the crowd. He was then followed by Rudy Giuliani and Laura Ingraham, and then the show opened with Lee Greenwood.
After Greenwood’s opening performance, Hannity brought out the always shy Mark Levin for some advice on beating back the liberal hordes.

Ann Coulter was one of many who spent the day there, making another appearance on the arena stage.
Rimes Returns to Jackson
The show resumed with the always amazing LeAnn Rimes, who performed at the show two years ago. LeAnn’s set was followed with Lt. Col. Oliver North bringing out his fellow Fox News correspondent and friend Geraldo Rivera.

Actor Jon Voight, who has appeared on Sean’s show a few times, also made a surprise appearance at the concert. North then introduced three of the real stars of the evening. Three of this years scholarship recipients, each told Ollie a little bit about their school progress.

Montgomery Gentry, headlining the show, did a fantastic powerful set to finish off a great night.
Was Hannity Really Singing?
Hannity appeared to join in towards the end of the program, but I think he may have convinced the sound engineer to keep his mike down.Thats about the only time that could happen with the fellow who just asks three hours a day of his fans. Oh and one hour of tv, daily.
And just a little bit more time for his Sunday show too. That’s not too much.

I don’t often have audio to post of Neal Boortz. But thanks to C-Span and their simulcast today of Boortz’s program we have a link to video of the show.
Congressman John Linder, co-author of The Fair Tax Book, joined Boortz to respond to the the curious “hatchet job” on the tax plan in the NY Times. Neal and Linder give some history behind their tax proposal and the book which was No. 1 on the Times bestseller list. They also field some good phoned-in questions on this possible replacement for the income tax.
These C-Span broadcasts though simple one-camera affairs, really do a great job of capturing the studio atmosphere of a radio show. You catch all of the off-air banter including the opening of a gift box of corn from listener Courtney in Iowa.
You can find other recent radio related C-Span programs on this search page.

The Sean Hannity Freedom Concert series, which funds scholarships for the children of fallen military, expands this year to five dates. The tour begins July 10 in Atlanta and concludes Sept. 11 at the traditional venue of Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey. In between, the concert series will visit San Diego, July 26; Cincinatti, August 9 and Dallas on August 14.
Performers announced thus far include Montgomery Gentry, LeAnn Rimes and Lee Greenwood. You can get ticket and other program and fund information at hannity.com/freedomconcert07.
The concert series which helps fund Oliver North’s Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund will support educational scholarships for many years to come. The current school year saw the awarding of 105 student scholarships. You can read more about the fund at freedomalliance.org.
The program is always a great time and sometimes affords an opportunity to meet Hannity, North and other talk personalities at the various venues. Mark Levin mentioned that he will attend at least several of the shows. Hannity will again broadcast his show live from Great Adventure at the September concert.

But Sharpton’s past verbiage has helped to incite violence and murder. Repeatedly. And thanks to the I-Man’s idiocy we were subjected to the absurd spectacle of Imus groveling before this hypocrite.
Imus’s schtick is a demented, perhaps flashback hazed politically incorrect banter, the goal of which is entertainment. Sharpton’s schtick is carefully calculated and politically gamed to be divisive, as well as politically and economically rewarding. Hannity has said that the good reverend is charming when not in character. I take that to mean he is only evil in public.
So we now witness the real ho’s of this bonfire of the inanities episode coming forward one by one to condemn comedy gone bad, while kissing the rings of charlatan preachers. Political ho’s who used Imus, not minding his always irreverent attitude, as long as his biting comedy bit all the “right” people, and perhaps gained them a few votes along the way. Corporate ho’s who hawked their products and looked the other way when Imus walked the edge. And network ho’s who are just doing their job – being ho’s.
Meanwhile there are some sensible comments, especially from Mark Levin. He says all those now disassociating themselves from Imus should have to mention the number of times they appeared on the Imus show. Levin also said he doesn’t believe in Stalinist retribution – and that we should just let the market work, adding “No one listens to the show!” and “If MSNBC no longer simulcasts your show, is that a bad thing?” However, I think we should make note of the corporate sponsors that now support Stalinist persecution of free speech.
But of all the comments I’ve heard and read the past few days, my favorites are a pair of posts from Steve of Hog On Ice. So click on over to read:
Don Imus to Retire and Move to Hymietown
and
Imus Must Die
Added comment – Won’t it be doubly ironic if Imus’s career winds up being saved by the students who were the subject of his insult. One of the girls when first told of the comments, reacted appropriately, she dismissively joked about it. Maybe she gets it. Obviously millions do not.

“I’ve come to the conclusion that roughly 50 percent of the adults in this country are simply too ignorant and functionally incompetent to be living in a free society.”
So begins the description on Amazon of “Somebody’s Gotta Say It”, the new book offering from Neal Boortz. It continues, “The Democrats’ theme for 2008 will be ‘The Common Good.’ I can’t speak for you, but I am an individual. Government exists to protect my rights, not to order my life. And I damn sure don’t exist to serve government.”
The Boortz book tour is in full-swing and his media appearances and book-signings are listed here.

Neil Boortz frequently offers some of the best columns of any of the talkers, on his blog Nealz Nuze. Today is no exception. He takes a look at the “Hildebeast’s” announcement that she wants to be President again. And he examines some of her accomplishments last go-round.
“We have to start thinking about what it would be like to have a president who put the common good above individual rights. Hillary Rodham is part and parcel of the war on individualism.” Read Neal’s post, “OK .. SO SHE’S IN.”

Al Qaeda? Not in this case. Its the stinking traitors wearing black robes and carrying ACLU cards. “Disconnected from reality”, Levin called it, a political policy speech in the form of a judicial ruling.
I would normally post this audio in the audio links section above. But this deserves emphasis. These are domestic enemies, so blinded by hate for the Bush administration, that they would do ANYTHING to undermine the defense of this country.
Mark Levin was fantastic in his opening comments Thursday. You can thank the great MarkLevinFan.com for the audio.

I don’t know why I’m looking forward to part 2 of Howard Stern on Hannity and Colmes tomorrow night but I am. Tonight, Howard mostly dealt with all the stuff that’s already been heard about CBS’s rediculous lawsuit. Tomorrow is supposed to be more personal.
Of course as Sean said tonight, part of Howard’s appeal and success is that he just says whatever is on his mind. And after so many years of his broadcasts, movie and books, what else is there to know? And why do I care? In the last ten or fifteen years I’ve probably listened to less than an hour of the regular Stern show. Before that, well, there were lots of hours.
Recently I’ve listened to his press conference regarding the CBS lawsuit. I enjoyed a wonderful appearance by Howard on one of Bob Grant’s last broadcasts. In fact, Howard’s call was I think, the best call of that final week. And now I watched the first half of Sean’s interview. I think Stern is at his absolute best when he is being himself and serious. Who the hell wants to listen to twenty years of lesbian dial-a-date?
When Stern called Bob Grant a few months ago, it was like Howard was trying to decide for himself when it would be time for him to move on or retire. It was an introspective call as much as a testimonial to Bob. It was then that I realized I’d like to hear Howard doing serious talk radio.
Stern is a brilliant guy and a compelling personality. And when you take away all the schtick, the Fartman routines, appearances in drag and assorted obscenities, you’re left with a brilliant compelling guy who can command any topic. Of course if he ever left all that behind, he’d probably be taking a hundred million dollar a year pay cut. In the meantime, there is tomorrow night and a possible appearance by Stern on Hannity’s radio show next week.
And maybe after he finishes his five year deal with Sirius, perhaps he’ll have enough in the bank and really decide to just be himself, seriously.
