Cap and Trade Hides New Entitlement

Jamie Dupree of WSB Radio in Atlanta spoke with Neal Boortz about an apparent new entitlement program buried in the little read cap and trade bill. Apparently the bill includes an “Energy Refund Program” which reveals that the Dems expect the bill to raise energy costs far more than they admit.

The new monthly payout would go to those whose income is no more than 150% of the poverty line. The provision appears on page 1193 of the bill which was raced through unread by nearly all of the so-called representatives voting on it. The current modus operandi of Polosi’s most irresponsible congress in history is to make sure the public has no opportunity to comment on proposed legislation.

Dupree also writes in his blog about the bill making provision for loss of funds to the Medicare and Social Security funds because of the job-killing nature of the bill. Dupree, unlike the lapdog official state media, is going through the bill line by line and reporting what he finds. His full blog is on the WSB site here.

Wal-Mart – so long

Wal-Mart – new corporate enemy of freedom. I’ve already sent them my reaction. I had always liked shopping Wal-Mart but things change. Ironic, in their support of a health-care mandate, they have teamed with the people who would most like to see them destroyed. Oh well, onward.

Obamanizing the banks

According to The Washington Post the agency proposed by dear leader would “oversee nearly all facets of consumer lending.” Disguised as a consumer protection bill, it could better be described as a scheme to spread the bad lending practices of Fannie and Freddie to all healthy banks.

Lead congress criminal Barney Frank plans to rush the bill through this month. Frank, as responsible as anyone for precipitating the mortgage crisis, will be able to force bad lending practices upon conservative local banks. The Post quotes Edward Yingling, chief executive of the American Bankers Association as saying, “I think when people read this, they will be shocked about the incredibly broad delegation of power . . It basically can do almost anything it wants. . .”

Another bank official is reported to have said this new agency “could compel lenders to offer loans to poor consumers who have shaky credit histories even if this could jeopardize the firms’ health.” Isn’t that how Frank and friends started the whole mortgage crisis? Of course the bill is supported by community groups that seek more lending to people who cannot afford the loans.

Eight more arguments for term limits

Mary Bono Mack of California., Mike Castle of Delaware, Mark Steven Kirk of Illinois, Leonard Lance of New Jersey, Frank LoBiondo of New Jersey, John McHugh of New York, Dave Reichert of Washington, and Chris Smith of New Jersey. These are the people who are most responsible for cap and trade passing in the House.

Eight worthless Republicans who betrayed their party, betrayed their country, betrayed any claim to economic sanity. Hell, they have betrayed any claim to any sanity having voted for this lunacy. This will cost every American family thousands of dollars a year before long if permitted to stand. All for nothing. Sham science. Bad economics. Anti-business. Anti-jobs. Anti-economic recovery. Anti-energy. Anti-freedom. Anti-American.

This has to be stopped in the Senate. And I don’t care what party these lunatics who voted for this bill belong to. If they are worthless on a vote this crucial, they are worthless period.

And three of the bastards are from my state of New Jersey. All of them are within very reasonable driving distance for campaign events in the next election cycle. And thanks to them, the gas to get there will cost more.

Stop socialized health-care

” . . . government-run health insurance would crater the private insurance market, forcing most Americans onto the government plan. The Lewin Group estimates 70% of people with private insurance — 120 million Americans — will quickly lose what they now get from private companies and be forced onto the government-run rolls as businesses decide it is more cost-effective for them to drop coverage.”

Karl Rove in the WSJ offers five arguments against the public option government health insurance plan which our nation’s petty tyrants intend to use to not so slow boil America into total government health-care.

And he warns that if the enemy is successful, “we won’t be able to undo the damage.”

TalkJunkie is back

The events going on in Washington are too horrific to not give voice to my opinions. Sorry, but I’m back.

With Obama racing Chavez for the best imitation of a young Fidel, its time for anyone who wants to preserve a free America to take a stand. Its time to write, make phone calls to your deadbeat legislators, speak to your neighbors, attend protests and most important -VOTE to replace your deadbeat representatives.

TalkJunkie will soon have a new design and a slightly new direction. Links are being updated and the talk schedules will get their own pages. And the new design will include commenting. So for all one or two of you still using the website, you’ll see a new look over the next few weeks. And you’ll be better able to offer suggestions and radio schedule additions. Said suggestions should include as few profanities as possible.

Dunce Cap and Trade

While the Senate debates the Warner Lieberman bill which will raise all energy prices and do nothing to create more energy, some people are saying, “Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less.”

Newt Gingrich was back on the Glenn Beck program this morning describing our governments hobbling of American oil production while begging our enemies to increase their exports. Gringrich’s group American
Solutions has undertaken a petition campaign with the drill here motto and has quickly passed the 100,000 mark. You can sign and participate in the drive by visiting the non-partisan American Solutions website.

Beck spoke about his appearance the evening before at a Toronto benefit forum with Newt and Dick Gephardt. Glenn related how he found Gephardt downright rational now that he isn’t beholden to the party’s left. And Gephardt confided in Beck that many of his fellow Dems are in fact, reasonably sane. But how would anyone discern this? We can only judge by the actions of the House and Senate, and those actions indicate otherwise.

In any event, no matter how you judge the sanity of your own representatives, let them know your opinions anyway. Most of them do understand polls and numbers.

We don’t have an oil crisis

We have a political crisis. So stated a caller to Herman Cain this morning, who is sitting in for Neal Boortz. If anything, that is an extreme understatement. I would call the government criminally negligent, except that most of these elected criminals are deliberate in their obstructions.

The headline to Herman’s column this week states it pretty well – “Oil Abounds in America, but Democrats Vote to Keep It In the Ground.” Of course its not just Democrats. Here in New Jersey local Republicans don’t want a liquified natural gas transfer station built off shore. Other groups here and elsewhere don’t want windmills altering their beach views. Florida and California don’t want new drilling off their coasts. And the Demoncrats egged on by the envirocrazies keep blocking new drilling in Alaska, even though that would have negligible impact on anything.

The U.S. imports somewhat over 10 million barrels a day. Cain’s column states, “It is estimated that there are two trillion barrels of unexplored oil shale right here in the United States. That’s trillion with a “t”.” America is a nation rich in natural resources and technology. Between oil, coal, shale oil, natural gas, nuclear, thermal, solar, hydro and wind, the U.S. should not need to import any energy product. All that is needed is for these political criminals to get out of they way.

If you don’t like spending 50 to 100 dollars for each fill up at the pump communicate that to the politicians in Washington and at home. Listen carefully to what they say and what is between the lines. Nearly everything they propose will make energy more scarce and more expensive. And remember that many of these leftist domestic enemies of America still don’t think we’re paying enough. Remember that at the polls as well as the filling stations.

Absolutely brilliant ad strategy

Brilliant. Insult and piss off a major market country, in order to appeal to political, not consumer desires in a much smaller market. After this, it would be appropriate if there were more Absolut drinkers in Mexico than in the U.S.

Update: Announcing the cancellation of the ad campaign, after a barrage of reaction, a company spokesperson translated the intent of the ad for us gringos. “In no way was this meant to offend or disparage, nor does it advocate an altering of borders, nor does it lend support to any anti-American sentiment, nor does it reflect immigration issues.”

“Instead, it hearkens to a time which the population of Mexico may feel was more ideal.”

Oh, okay, no problem.

Hussein, Hussein, Hussein

So the name Hussein is now forbidden, perhaps sacred. Not to be taken in jest or vain or as a campaign rub. Talk host Bill Cunningham was so evil in calling Obama by his actual name. Perhaps its now like publishing a likeness of that other prophet, er, mo-something. Well screw Obama. Uh oh, Now I’ve taken the name of our new prophet in vain. Ahh, screw him anyway.

Yes anyone who uses his actual middle name must be anti-Muslim at best or perhaps something worse, maybe a republican or evil conservative. Yes, small r because John McLame now decides who is really a Republican. Despite Cunningham perhaps having a screw loose with his now I’ll support Hillary garbage, this is all such bs. Anyway, Mark Levin came up with a solution on how to properly address his Obamaness.

Levin says we shall now use the name Barack Milhaus Obama. Now maybe that shows proper respect. Except that “Tricky Dick”, as the left so respectfully called him, wasn’t ashamed of America before he had his own self wander onto the political scene. Except that “I am not a crook” Nixon, as the left so respectfully called him, didn’t buy his homes with questionable real estate deals with lobbyists. Maybe using Milhaus is sort of degrading, to Nixon.

Jersey radio tackles state spending

Flying Pig Rally at the New Jersey Statehouse

NJ 101.5 radio talk hosts attracted a few thousand listeners and tax activists to the state capitol last Friday to rally against the Governor’s new toll plan. New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine is proposing an 800% toll increase, the largest state bonding program in history and the shifting of existing debt to a new semi-private highway corporation.

Corzine, who made his fortune by taking Goldman Sachs public, wants to make his mark in politics by taking public assets private. And the purpose in doing so, is to enable grandiose new spending proposals for the state already buried in debt. It’s the perfect issue for the popular fm station that features daytime weekday talk.

The station has set up a page to cover progress on the effort to shift the direction from new spending and new debt to spending cuts. The governor has acknowledged that all prior administrations have overspent but also claims there is no place to cut spending. His state of the state address advised that, “pigs will fly over the Statehouse before there’s a realistic level of new taxes or spending cuts that can fix this mess.”

Now that the rally has produced numerous flying swine over the Statehouse, the station continues to inform and motivate by having an online petition, in addition to a website that provides a clearing house for information on the Governor’s plan, the various groups heading up the opposition and the latest news on the issue. Time will tell whether this has any effect on the swine inside the Statehouse.

Radio & Records betrays and insults Bob Grant

Radio legend Bob Grant had been slated to receive Radio & Records’ Lifetime Achievement Award at its March seminar program. After lobbying by an unnamed individual, the group has rescinded its award to the radio giant. It has also suddenly added to its program the controversial “reverend” and radio pygmy, Al Sharpton.

"Award Withdrawn
Upon further review and consideration of Bob Grant's complete body of work, Radio & Records has withdrawn its decision to present the 2008 News/Talk/Sports Lifetime Industry Achievement Award to Mr. Grant. R&R is sensitive to the diversity of our community and does not want the presentation of an award to Mr. Grant to imply our endorsement of past comments by him that contradict our values and the respect we have for all members of our community."

From a post on the New York Radio Message Board comes the observation, “At this point, R&R ceases to be representative of the industry and is now taking on the role of a political advocacy group. . . Censorship and discrimination based on one’s point of view knows no boundaries. This thing is dangerous and its growing.” Another poster noted, “it seems like somebody put pressure on them, and that they are caving. Do we want to trust a company like that as a major news source for the radio industry?”

Fellow WABC host Mark Levin started out his show this evening calling the radio group’s action disgraceful. And Grant, interviewed earlier by Hannity, was quoted in a column by the Radio Equalizer saying, “it’s a sad day for America because it means that an absolute kook who has no credibility has forced a company to bend to his will.” Hannity also mentioned that there may be further action from other radio hosts regarding a boycott of the March R & R program.

Grant’s own show was pre-empted by sports this evening, which also pre-empted the guaranteed avalanche of reaction by his legions of fans.

Lets face the truth. Radio & Records is not “sensitive to the diversity” of any community. It is pandering to and taking the side of political correctness fascists who represent no community.

Imus returns on WABC

Starting Monday, December 3, Don Imus will take over the morning slot on WABC, New York. The show will air from 6am til 10am and will also be nationally syndicated. Returning with Imus will be veteran newsman and Imus sidekick, Charles McCord.

Imus has spent over 30 years on New York morning radio before being fired earlier this year after a ridiculous blowup over an insulting quip about a local women’s sports team. The plans by WABC owner Citadel Broadcasting to syndicate the show to possibly 20 or more stations means this move will impact morning hosts nationwide.

Radio writer and analyst Brian Maloney, of The Radio Equalizer, examines who the potentially displaced hosts may be. Of course, New York’s Curtis Sliwa and Ron Kuby who ironically bested Imus in ratings, will almost certainly be looking for a new radio home. Some of the other hosts across the country include KSFO’s Lee Rodgers and Melanie Morgan, KABC’s Doug McIntyre and WJR’s Paul W Smith.

Over the next month we’ll see how this will all shake out. It will take longer than that for Citadel to discover if they did the the math properly. Meanwhile Imus will be raking in a reported five to eight million a year from the deal, and more if he can put together a tv simulcast deal. That is all on top of the estimated 10 million settlement with CBS. Now that was my kind of paid vacation.

A few phony soldiers and many phony statesmen

The morons in the House and Senate are trying to provide cover for their own despicable behavior by criticizing Limbaugh for something he didn’t say. These congressional clowns are doing the bidding of far left propagandists Media Matters and Move0n to portray Rush as having said that ex-soldiers who criticize the military are phony soldiers. Just one problem. He didn’t say that.

Rush said last week, “I was talking about a genuine phony soldier — and, by the way, Jesse MacBeth is not the only one. How about this guy Scott Thomas who was writing fraudulent, phony things in the New Republic about atrocities he saw that never happened? How about Jack Murtha blanketly accepting the notion that Marines in Haditha engaged in wanton murder of innocent children and civilians? If anybody owes anybody an apology, the entire Democrat Party, from Hillary Clinton on down, owes the US military an apology.”

John Kerry, who built a career in politics by turning on his fellow soldiers, claims Rush slighted the military with the expression phony soldiers. But Rush was referring to a specific, recent, actual fraud that the left propped up to weave horror stories convenient to their cause and defamatory to the troops. In other words a young Kerry-type, except that the fraud Rush was referring to had washed out after a few weeks of boot camp.

Now Senator Reid is demanding Rush be held accountable for what he didn’t even say. So Rush has challenged this idiot to make the accusations to his face. All of this is just more proof that Congress has even better ratings than they deserve. It really belongs in the low single digits. In fact, appearances on the Limbaugh show would help their ratings.

Rush rationalized, “The reason this does not work, ladies and gentlemen, is that I have a 19-and-a-half-year record on this program of being one of the most devoted supporters of US military personnel in uniform that there is.” Rush relates that he has been saying for a while that the dems have gone over the cliff in their criticism of the military, the way they have portrayed troops as terrorizing Iraqis, and the recent outrage of the Betrayus ad. This is their desperate attempt to create the illusion of supporting the troops.
